Mac, bred by Pam Aldous, joined us in June 2000. A special boy right from the start he is a pleasure to own, although with a very strong will, he can be difficult to show when there are girls around!

He missed most of his puppy shows due to the foot and mouth epidemic but managed to be Top Male puppy of 2000 and Best Puppy at the ‘delayed’ Crufts of 2001.

Since then he was Top Male in the breed for 2002 - Overall Top Dog for 2003 and 2004. His wins include HG4 at WELKS under Jean Lanning, the only Basset Fauve in the last 5 years to be placed in a Group at a UK Championship Show and Best Dog at Crufts 2004. He has a CACIB and Res. CACIB and Green Stars from Ireland. At the end of 2004, he held the breed record for the number of Best Dog awards, in breed classes, totalling 32, 18 with BOB, at Championship level.

Mac sired his first litter in 2003 to the imported Meccalla Hattivatti who I co-owned with Pam Aldous. This litter produced Brequest Armand and Brequest Angelique who have both won top honours at Championship Shows.

We are very proud of our boy who has continued into 2005 with BOB at the East of England and Blackpool. Also, Best Dog at the Hound Ass. Of Scotland, WELKS, Southern Counties, Windsor, Paignton and RBD at Bath, Three Counties, South Wales and Richmond.
